Individuality

It's a brand new month and with that brings a brand new Word of the Month!  During morning worship this month, our elementary kids will be learning about Individuality.  As we talk about this word we are defining Individuality as this: discovering who you are meant to be, so you can make a difference.

Imagine that God created every kid with an individual box of potential. And your job as a parent is to help them figure out how to open it and use it. There is a tendency to just let kids wait until they are adults to open the box and see what's in it. As parents we need to help kids find out what treasures they have been gifted with by God! Our kids do not need to wait until later to discover the gifts God has already given them. Some kids never get a chance to "open the box" and see because we as adults keep telling them what their gifts are, without letting them discover these gifts on their own.

The point is every kid needs help to open that box and figure out how God has blessed them and and, in turn, how these blessings can be used to serve and glorify God. Parents, use this month to help your kids begin to open the box and discover what's inside.
